As we celebrate our 30th year in business, we would like to take the time to share our thoughts on the last 3 decades.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 30 years! We started with an idea, and a single employee working in a spare bedroom. Some would say we were prosperous due to our hard work, but we think that our 30 years of success should be attributed to our meticulous dedication to our core values: our commitment to our employees and their families, and our commitment to you, our customers.
This milestone awards us an opportunity to both reflect on our past and to look forward to our future. As we celebrate, we would like to say “Thank You” to all of our customers!
However, now is not the time to rest. We remain mindful of the ever-changing world of tax laws and regulations, and are dedicated to using the latest technologies to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. While we are taking this moment to celebrate, we are not relaxing. We are accelerating into the future, and look forward to serving our customers for decades to come.
Brice Evans, President
Brice has been the owner of BDE Tax and Professional Services since 1987. He has been a native to the Loves Park area and graduated from Harlem High School in 1982. He went on to graduate from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where he received his BA in accounting, minor in mathematics, member of Phi Sigma Omicron fraternity and played collegiate sports, being football and rugby. Once he knew that being a tax practitioner was his passion he then advanced his credentials to become a tax advisor by becoming certified as an “Enrolled Agent to Practice before the Internal Revenue Service” (EA) in 1991.
Brice really enjoys the client relationships and specializes in the small/medium size business structures with strategic tax and accounting advice.
Brice’s responsibility is to hire and support the company with well-educated, service-orientated employees that see the value of the company’s clients for their business or individual needs. He oversees daily management responsibilities, and meets with clients for their tax and accounting services. In addition, Brice is involved in many tax cases, business start-ups, reorganizational businessindividual projects, business purchases and sales, estate services (tax advice) and offer other professional services at the needs of the client. He enjoys the business structures that invest into real estate and owns another company that holds residential and commercial properties as investments.
Brice holds high value to our local community and takes pride in raising his family here. His father graduated from Harlem High School in 1952 and mother from Muldoon Catholic High School in 1953. He is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), serves as a member to the Rockford Lutheran Foundation and the Rockford Lutheran finance committee, where his two beautiful children, Gabby and Lexie attend. He enjoys sports, traveling, fishing, the outdoors and time with his awesome children and friends. A lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Loves Park, IL.

Cindy Six, Tax Preparer
Cindy’s professional career and interests have been centered with taxes and accounting in the legal and medical fields. Her skills progressed through onsite training and education. She has been with BDE for over ten years and enjoys the freedom of working with a company whose priorities are first and foremost focused on high ethics and integrity. She is a valued member of a great team that works together to resolve difficult tax and accounting situations.
Her motto is “FAITH FAMILY FRIENDS”.
She also enjoys doing volunteer work through various organizations such as her Church and her community’s local historical society. She appreciates the opportunity to share her God-given gifts with her family, friends and community. She is very fulfilled and satisfied.
Teri Oyen, Accountant / Tax Preparer
Teri has over 30 years experience in accounting and tax preparation for both individual and business clients. Her skills include sales tax, payroll, accounting, tax return preparation and great client service! Teri enjoys working directly with her customers to ensure that they receive the best professional service through her excellent communication skills, friendly personality and many years of experience.
Donna Amdur, Professional Services
Donna has worked for BDE Tax & Professional Services for over 10 years. She has held many roles throughout her time at BDE including (but not limited to) payroll, accounting, sales tax, office manager, & overall customer service! She genuinely cares about each and every client that comes thru our door and does her best to ensure they feel welcomed and get the best service we can offer.
Susan Schuring, Office Manager
Susan has over 16 years in administrative experience and thoroughly enjoys working with people. Her management responsibilities include Customer Service and Satisfaction, Employee Production and Scheduling, Billing and Accounts Receivables along with a variety other tasks.
